Look at the upper body only, again from the 'hands' side. Block out his lower body and look at his hands as he strides.
  • Did they go back beyond his shoulder? (They should be about even with his back foot.)
  • Was their first movement down? (Potential fault)
  • Do the hands remain relatively close to the body or do they 'cast' out?
  • Look at the front shoulder. Does it open too early?
  • Look at the head. Does the hitter track the ball and does the head remain relatively still? Is the head still after the swing or does it pull off?
Again, we suggest you use that old standby, the 'Tee' everyday. It is the best hitting tool at your disposal.
