QB Stance
  • Comfortable Position
  • Half a Step behind center
  • Feet Parallel and Shoulder Width apart
  • Toes pointed straight ahead
  • Weight on Balls of Feet
  • Heels on the ground
  • Slight Flexion of Waist and Knees
  • Stand as Tall as possible with Head up
  • Arms Extended with slight Flexion at Elbows
Hand Position
  • Passing Hand against crotch
  • Fingers Extended
  • Palm facing Down and Parallel to ground
  • Thumb of non passing hand in groove of thumb of the passing hand
  • Some pressure from the passing hand
  • QB can adjust center up or down so it doesn't cramp QB's stance
  • Have the center and QB simulate snap but shake hands
Points to Remember
  • Keep your hands ready for an exchange while under the center and when calling a cadence
  • Follow the center's buttocks with your hands to properly receive the exchange
  • Don't pull away from the the center's buttocks before the exchange is secured
  • Don't let forearms touch the center's buttocks
  • Don't crouch too low....keep a good standing up position
  • When practicing always have the center take a step and the QB pull away while seating the ball.
